International Book Day is coming up! So, to celebrate it and continue to create books for our <a href="http://bookme-library.blogspot.com.es/" target="_blank">Book ME-Library</a>, we got some 1st graders from a bilingual school in Móstoles to read a few stories. We uploaded the recordings up to our <a href="https://soundcloud.com/bookmelibrary" target="_blank">SoundCloud channel</a>, captioned it and created individual QR codes for each book. URJC and SGAguilar foster reading and writing skills

At the <a href="http://twitter.com/urjconline" target="_blank">URJC</a> Master's Degree for <a href="https://ictandclil.edu20.org/student_custom/show/180764" target="_blank">The Use of ICT and Digital Resources in Primary Bilingual Education</a>, a team of students is developing an <a href="http://ictforreadingandwriting.blogspot.com.es/" target="_blank"><b>e-project</b></a> to foster writing and reading skills through the use of ICT with the collaboration of a class of CLIL students at Colegio San Gregorio, thanks to their teacher, <a href="http://twitter.com/javiramossancha" target="_blank">@javiramossancha</a>.<br /><br />Emily, Nuria and Pablo designed and recorded their first set of audio stories in Madrid and they were ever so surprised (and so was I) to see that the kids at <b><a href="http://sgaguilarjramos.blogspot.com.es/" target="_blank">#colsangregorio</a></b> in Palencia had started listening to their productions, so <a href="http://stopandlearnenglish.blogspot.com.es/2014/04/extending-our-e-connections.html" target="_blank"><b>e-connections</b></a> were spreading.<br /><br />Today, we are taking a step ahead consolidating this network between CLIL e-students and CLIL e-teachers thanks to the great activity the kids at<b> <a href="http://sgaguilarjramos.blogspot.com.es/" target="_blank">#colsangregorio</a></b> have accomplished: the characters for the audio-stories at <b><a href="http://ictforreadingandwriting.blogspot.com.es/" target="_blank">#ictclil_urjc</a></b>.<br /><br />It is wonderful to see how these audio-stories now have colourful characters who tell the stories too! <br />Hello everybody! <br /><br />Here we present you with some podscasts we have recorded for our <a href="http://storiestoeducate.blogspot.com.es/" target="_blank">storytelling e-Project</a>. We have used <a href="https://soundcloud.com/alvaro-casama" target="_blank">SoundCloud</a>. Our aim with these recordings is to foster communicative and listening skills while at the same time we show different aspects about storytelling. <br /><br />This tool is very useful to record all the sounds you want. As our topic is about storytelling, we decided to do the podcast as a radio story channel.</span></span></h2><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We recorded three tracks for introducing ourselves and our <b><a href="http://ictforreadingandwriting.blogspot.com.es/" target="_blank">Project</a></b>. The three ones included whowe are, what we are doing and what we are going to do. And later, the most important and interesting part of our new podcast channel is the minibook reading. </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">  As we are students of a Master's Degree, we did a course which we had to make a minibook inspired by ¨the very hungry caterpiller¨. We wanted our podcasts to have a formal but not serious tone. We chose SoundCloud because we had heard of it before and it was the easiest to use. Also, there was an App that we downloaded and it worked perfectly. We had a few preliminary tests and the sound quality was excellent. </span><br /><span style="background-color: #f7f7f7; color: #3e454c; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; line-height: 14.079999923706055px; white-space: pre-wrap;">After recording the audio, we put it into Garage Band. I chose Garage Band because I am relatively new to Apple products and I wanted to learn how to use that tool. Also, Garage Band has a smooth operating system. When I needed help, I just watched a ‘how-to’ video on youtube. </span><br /><span style="background-color: #f7f7f7; color: #3e454c; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; line-height: 14.079999923706055px; white-space: pre-wrap;">We looked for music on the website Jamendo. Jamendo has great CC content and a bunch of interesting music that is free to use. Luckily for us, we listened to about 3 tracks until we found “Whiskey Lullaby.” It has been described as “swanky” and sounds like it should be on a podcast. Then, I edited the song to fade out after the intro and come back in for a minute at the end. I think the group was pleased at how this turned out in the end. Along with the movie trailer, I think our podcast was a good first try. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://static.wixstatic.com/media/3028a5_96ffb423c5d540dd92d78a65bf098cbd.jpg_srz_p_356_333_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srz" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="299" src="http://static.wixstatic.com/media/3028a5_96ffb423c5d540dd92d78a65bf098cbd.jpg_srz_p_356_333_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srz" width="320" /></a></div>2014 is the year to commemorate two special anniversaries: 100 years since '<b><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platero" target="_blank">Platero and I</a></b>' by <b><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Ram%C3%B3n_Jim%C3%A9nez" target="_blank">Juan Ramón Jiménez</a></b> was first published, on one hand, and on the other hand, four hundred years since <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Greco" target="_blank"><b>El Greco</b></a> was born.<br /><br /><span style="font-size: large;">Shall we introduce <b><i>El Greco</i></b> to <i><b>Platero </b></i>and arrange a creative educational meeting? </span><br /><br />That's our goal at<span style="font-size: large;"> <b><a href="http://inmacs2010.wix.com/plateroquenipintado" target="_blank">Platero in handy</a></b></span> (<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Platero que ni pintado</b></span>), and to accomplish it we are proposing that the characters in El Greco's paintings tell the story of Platero, becoming real storytellers.<br />The idea comes from <a href="http://twitter.com/inmitacs" target="_blank">@inmitacs</a>, a Spanish Arts teacher interested in ICT, Education and Challenges, who has previously founded and taken part in other collaborative projects, such as <a href="http://queremosmusicarte.blogspot.com.es/" target="_blank">Queremos Musicarte</a>.<br /><br />At <a href="http://www.urjc.es/estudios/masteres_universitarios/ciencias_juridicas_sociales/ensananza_bilingue_primaria/" target="_blank">URJC</a> we are accomplishing this goal and we'll be flooding the classroom with Art and Literature. Any creation goes as long as some part of Platero and I is being told by a character in one of the paintings by El Greco.</li></ul><b>Option B</b>:<div><ul><li>As students in Spain introduce you to our Literature, Culture and Art by accomplishing their goal, why don't you try and accomplish the goal too as teachers and them extend the accomplishment in your own lessons?</li></ul><div><br /><ul></ul><b>Reflection</b><br /><div style="text-align: justify;">Promoting the interaction between several subjects, across various languages and countries, as well as working with key competences is an essential part of any collaborative project that aims at bringing Languages and Cultures together.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">By accomplishing a goal like this you will be able to foster Language skills, Communication skills, Writing, Arts and ICT skills.
